Aspen Series
The Aspen Series began from a photo taken while skiing at Beaver Creek. I am fascinated at the texture and contrast in the white bark, especially how it lays when I lay in the thick paint with palette knife. There is something captivating in a stand of Aspens, especially if you stand among them when the wind kicks up, as they seem to whisper a mystery of beauty mingling with strength.
